0 Emporia, VA Emporia, VA Full-time Full-time $45,000 - $50,000 a year $45,000 - $50,000 a year SUMMARY The Quality Supervisor, under the direction of the Area Manager, oversees the overall operations of the assigned Department.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leadership, productivity, quality and waste, process and machinery, equipment service, reporting, inventory control, safety, and training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May lead more than one department.
Lead and supervise employees in the department(s) (Department Leads, Master Operators, Operators, and temporary staff).
Lead departmental production.
Complete employee performance evaluations for Department Leads Coach employees and develop performance improvement plans, in conjunction with the Plant Manager and Human Resources.
Enforce appropriate level of corrective action for performance, attendance, and behavioral issues, in conjunction with the Plant Manager and Human Resources.
Assist Department Leads with completing employee performance evaluations and corrective actions for other departmental employees.
Increase and monitor the department's productivity and yield (working hours, overtime, number of units produced per hour, etc).
Monitor and reduce was percentage for both material and product.
Monitor and analyze the scrap reports.
Lead a quality committee regarding waste in the department(s).
Understand the quality procedures required for the department.
Understand all PI's and FO's for missions and department.
Perform weekly machinery maintains.
Troubleshoot problems.
Perform inventory of raw materials.
Order raw materials.
Monitor and follow the weekly equipment services.
Report operation and materials for the department(s).
Manage department inventory.
Reduce inventory variant for the department(s).
Understand all departmental safety regulations.
Understand and manage the 5S methodology for the department(s).
Perform other duties assigned by the Plant Manager.
QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS US Citizen Leadership Skills Strong attention to detail Dependable and reliable with strong attendance record.
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills Strong organizational and prioritization skills Strong analytical skills with ability to recommend alternative courses of action Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Able to perform all of the department's production processes Able to perform the specific production processes for the mission Able to operate all of the machinery in the department Interpret Charts and Processes Ethical conduct Passion for safety, with demonstrated caring and understanding of what it takes to be injury free, and commitment to actively promoting and exhibiting a strong safety culture Education and
Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
2 - 3 years of manufacturing related experience preferred.
1 - 2 years supervisor experience 1 - 2 years of proven progressive experience in Quality Assurance preferred Physical Demands/ Work Environment:
Moderate physical effort required.
Must be able to lift to 50 - 75 pounds and regularly required to stand, reach, and move about the facility.
Work performed in a plant environment.
