Nurse

The RN uses the nursing process and evidence-based practice to collaborate with the assigned provider team in developing the patient-driven care plan. The RN is responsible and accountable for the provision of direct patient care and for the delivery of quality nursing care to a diverse veteran patient population. The RN possesses the knowledge and skills to effectively apply all aspects of the nursing process within a collaborative, interdisciplinary practice setting, which will then enable effective implementation of health promotion and prevention practices, management of acute and chronic illnesses, and attainment of optimal levels of functioning. Duties include, but not limited to the following:
Utilizes the nursing process to provide care to patients. Completes triage assessments, health risk assessments/screening; initiates follow-up as needed. Assesses patient's learning needs; develops and implements a plan to meet needs and instructs patients and families in self-care and treatment measures. Applies collaborative team approach in identifying, analyzing and resolving patient care problems. Participates in educational activities to improve clinical knowledge and skills, maintain expertise and enhance role performance in area of practice. Identifies learning needs of self and others based on professional standards and initiates a plan to meet those needs. Assesses patient care needs, workload and skill level of personnel and assigns responsibilities as appropriate to meet identified needs. Collaborates with others as a means of effectively utilizing the group process to identify, analyze, and resolve problems affecting patient care. Consults with other health care providers to meet patient care needs and plan proper follow-up care. Educates colleagues and/or students and serves as a preceptor and/or mentor. Participates in teaching activities for supportive personnel in learning activities and skill enhancement. Initiates/participates in unit/program and/or Service quality improvement activities that result in improved outcomes. Identifies the process and outcome of a specific improvement that has resulted from performance improvement activities in the work area assigned. Work Schedule:

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6) OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. Experience:
Four (4) to Five (5) years experience in Primary Care. Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience. The physical requirement of this position includes lifting, prolonged standing, frequent bending, and stooping, walking, reaching and repetitive motion. The mental/sensory requirements include recall, reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing, keyboarding, reading and logical thinking. The environment's pace can vary from steady to a sometimes-fast pace requiring handling of multiple priorities, frequent, sometimes intense customer interactions, and the ability to adapt to frequent changes in a sometimes-noisy environment. There may be the need to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to disease, illness and hazardous materials.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
